PLAINly Speaking…
High Plains Technology Center was built on a strong foundation with leadership provided by our past board, students, staff and administration.  When I consider the current board, students, staff and administration I get very excited about the future of High Plains Technology Center and the communities we serve!  I am very proud to be a part of this great TEAM.  As your new superintendent I would like to cover a little of my background and how I came to be at HPTC.  I received my Bachelor’s & Master’s degrees from Oklahoma State University…Go Pokes!!  Upon graduation from OSU I was employed at Meridian Technology Center in Stillwater as an AutoCAD (Computer Aided Drafting) Instructor for two years before moving into administration.  After six years at Meridian Tech, I started my own business and operated it for 5 years before selling it and accepting the Assistant Superintendent’s position at Northwest Technology Center in Alva.  I worked in Alva for eight years before moving to Woodward to be the Deputy Superintendent.  After three years at HPTC, Mr. Don Bird retired and I felt very fortunate to be offered the opportunity to be High Plains Technology Center’s 5th Superintendent.
I am very proud of my family and would like to take this opportunity to introduce them.  My wife, Lisa owns and operates a home-based health & wellness business as well as working for Keenan 2 wind farm as their financial administrator.  She also serves as the President of the Woodward Education Foundation.  We have four children…Dalton is a Freshman at OSU, Jake is a Junior at WHS, Paige is a 6th grader at WMS, and Peyton is a 2nd grader at Cedar Heights.  My family and I enjoy being a part of Woodward and appreciate the community for making all of us feel welcome!
We (High Plains Tech) recently started a new school year and I’m very impressed with the quality of students we have from our eight partner schools and our adult students!  As the year goes along I’m sure you will be hearing great things about this group of students!  High Plains has a lot of exciting things coming on the horizon with our student organizations, exciting new classes, and outstanding staff.  I’m sure these groups will give me plenty to brag about each and every month!
As I stated earlier, I am very humbled to be a part of such a great TEAM and excited about what the future holds for YOUR High Plains Tech Center and Northwest Oklahoma!   Thank you for the opportunity to serve!!
