Backhoe Training for Upstream Oil & Gas
In the oilfield, backhoe operators have to be ready to dig anyplace, anytime,
anywhere in every condition imaginable. Get the training that you need at the Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Training Center (MOGTC) at High Plains Technology Center!
Prerequisite Training: Roustabout Training at the MOGTC or documented field experience with equivalent certifications.
Course Length: 10 days with prerequisite training or 5 days with documented experience and certifications.
Course Content: 16 hours of classroom training in backhoe safety and operations and 24 hours of highly controlled and supervised in-field practice in safely operating a backhoe and doing tasks typically associated with oil and gas operations.

- Loading Unloading the Backhoe
- Roading the Backhoe
- Crossing Rough or Difficult Terrain
- Bucket Operations
- Loader Operations
- Ditching Operations
- Excavating Operations
- Working with and around Pipelines
- Backhoe Safety Considerations
- Working around Utility Services
